Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY, born on 17 March, 1988) is professionally known as Grimes is a Canadian performer, singer and record producer. [2][3] The range of her earlier music is described as "lo lo R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". Her music has included elements of hip-hop, electronic and rock. Her lyrics often touch on the themes of science fiction and feminists. The band has released five albums. Grimes was born in Vancouver but later relocated to Montreal. Her first independently-based music career in the mid early 2000s. In 2010, she dropped two albums with Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. After signing with 4AD the band gained popularity thanks to Visions, her fourth studio album. Visions features the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion", which was nominated for the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. The album that she released as her fourth studio effort Art Angels was released in 2015. The album received high marks by critics and a variety of newspapers voted for it to be the best album. In the year 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes, who is also an actor as well as a judge for Alter Ego's musical competitions played a part as singer in Cyberpunk 2077 which was released 2020.
